Educated as a Furniture Designer and Architect Timo Ripatti has worked widely in the design field.
His work history varies from lighting and furniture design to large-scale architectural, exhibition and interior design projects in Finland and abroad with occasional participation to art gallery exhibitions.

Now he leads design company STUDIO RIPATTI in Helsinki. The studio is working mainly in the field of product design with clients across the Europe.


His mission is to combine aesthetic, poetic and functional qualities into his works. He strives to design human-scale products that work in a perfect balance with the space and architecture. He pursues to work with the brands of the highest quality in the means of vision, production technology, service and sustainability.


Awards include the Furniture of the Year Award in Finland (2009), Furniture Designer of the Year Award in Finland (2010), Red Dot Honorary mention (as a member of Kone design Team, 2012), Lexus Creating Amazing Award by Lexus Finland (2013), NYCxDESIGN Award in ICFF, New York (2016).


Timo Ripatti has been working as a jury member of iF award (2015) and he lecturers furniture design in Aalto University in Helsinki and in the Lahti Institute of Design and Fine Arts.
